Constructions project
To bring quality education from a Protestant Christian conviction, School met de Bijbel De Schatkist wants to make a difference in Brussels, focusing on the community of Haren.
De Schatkist is a school where children discover that they are precious. It is a place with the potential to reach a young generation in the heart of Belgium with the love of God and give them quality education.
De Schatkist creates a place where children from a very young age are allowed to grow into a generation that knows how to have an impact on our city and country.
Purchase Arthur Maesstraat 58
De Schatkist started in 2015 in an old office building in Haren. With the necessary adaptations, the school operation was expanded here. With the purchase of the current building in November 2020, De Schatkist has become owner, anchored in the community and ready for the future.
A new building
In cooperation with the Vlaamse Gemeenschaps Commissie , which is responsible for Dutch-speaking education in Brussels, a building application has already been submitted for the expansion and renovation of the school.
This project includes 12 classrooms, a multipurpose hall with kitchen and an outdoor play area. It is the school's vision to focus on a broad functioning in order to be a blessing for the community and the Church in Brussels by means of after-school care, Dutch lessons for non-native speakers (90% of the parents are non-native speakers), sports activities, welfare, church services, etc.
